Composites are composite materials that consist of at least two different materials. These two can have very different physical and chemical properties and can be combined to create a final product. 

An example could be fiberglass reinforced polymer, which combines the strength and stiffness of glass fiber with light and malleable plastic. Composites are used in everything from building structures and bridges to sports equipment, cars, ferries and wind turbines.

Compared to both steel and aluminum, composites have an impressively high strength because the different materials in the composite structure compliment each other. The fibers are often made of strong materials such as glass, carbon or aramid-fiber, which contribute to a high structural strength that withstands greater loads.

Composite materials are also often lighter than the usual alternative materials, and compared to steel and aluminium, the weight can be reduced by up to 70%. The material is resistant to corrosion and is not affected by oxidation processes, humidity, chemicals or harsh environmental conditions in the same way as metals.

With a significant weight reduction and long service life, composites are therefore advantageous to use in e.g. aviation, environmental protection, the construction and automotive industry as well as wind farms and sports, where durability and weight are crucial.

Composite materials generally require minimal maintenance compared to many other materials. Their durability and resistance to corrosion, moisture and chemicals mean they require very little cleaning and treatment to maintain appearance and functionality. 

This is one of the main reasons why composite materials are popular in outdoor and marine environments where they are exposed to harsh conditions. They are also used as an element for industrial chemical protection and are resistant to UV radiation.

Our production includes glassfiber-reinforced polyester resins and chemical-resistant fire-retardant systems such as vinylests and phenolic materials.

We manufacturing in processes such as hand laying, RTM vacuum and die casting.

With composite materials, you are not limited by the challenges that are often associated with traditional sheet metal processing. You can create doubly curved surfaces and objects that can turn, rotate and twist around their own axis without compromising on surface requirements and the life of the object.
